where to find driftwood?

if i get drift wood on beaches, what if its saltwater? and what are the steps to clean these guys.
 
Wow this is an old one. But to answer your question, soak it in some freshwater for a while or you could boil it for a couple of hours. Usually drift wood found on beaches will float so you may have a hard time getting it to sink with conventional methods. After that is done give it a scrub with a brush and soak it again and you should be fine. ;)
 
I love the look of Cypress driftwood. I've seen some for sale on ebay. It is pretty much the only kind of driftwood that the LFS around here sell.
