Are there good places to find driftwood? Do local fish stores tend to have them? I'm a little hesitant to buy off the internet because terms like "small" and "large" seem very subjective, and I'm looking for a semi-specific shape of wood.

Ebay is usually where I go...just bought some for my 55g angelfish tank. Just gotta know weight and measurements to get a good deal. Usually LFS sell them at 5-7 $/lb.

Thanks for all the links everyone. They're super helpful.

Mgamer; I'm looking for a tall-ish arched piece. I'm setting up a 10g (hopefully!) in the near future and I'd like to have a piece of arched driftwood that spans across a good amount of the tank to serve as a center focal for the aquarium. And then I'll put plants around/on the driftwood accordingly. In addition to looking good, I think it'd be fun for the fishies to swim through the arch. =)

cicrush; Yeah, I'm definitely planning on waiting until I can find what I want, even if it takes me awhile. I've looked at a few pet stores around me (only big name pet stores...), and I haven't bought anything for that reason.

Taysius; Thanks for the link. And your profile picture really makes me want to have a sandwich now! =P

rufioman; Thanks, I hadn't thought of ebay.

tay; I agree! I love some of the burning on that wood. It gives the wood a lot of character.
