So I think I'm going to go with an AH supply kit for my new lights since it takes a lot of the guessing game out of the process. But I'm not sure which one I should get.
My tank is 15 gallons, which is 24" long. The 55W AH Kit is 22" long. The 36W is 17.5" long.
Even 36W in an AH kit is rather high light. But would the light be evenly distributed with a 36W or would it be much more concentrated in the middle and dark on the sides?
Also, do the ballasts that come with the kits have to be used with their associated wattage? What I mean is, if I were to buy a 55W kit could I put a 36W bulb in it? Or if I were to buy a 36W kit could I put a 27w or 32W bulb in it? Or can you only put the respective wattage bulb in each?
Thanks
