 I Want To Start With A Neon Tetra. Then Go From There ;)

I Know That Non-Agressive Fish Are Good For The Community, But Do Even The NICE Fish Quarrel?

Generally I have found that with schooling fish there will always be a little infighting to establish dominance. It is normally not much more than chasing and a little nipping. Pretty much all tetras I have seen do this. Neons will work best with a school of at least 5 or more. It gives them security and strength. A good additon to such a tank would be cory catfish. They school also in groups of at a minimum 3 but more is better with them as well. That would give you mid level and bottom in the tank.

I'm Getting 6 Cardinal Tetras. I'm Also Thinking Of A Bleeding Heart. I Saw Them At The Store Today(We Were Just Looking) And The Dude Said That They Were Community Fish.

What's A Good Example Of A Colorful, NON-Schooling fish thats Tropical? Aren't Fancy Guppies Tropical?

It's A 10-gallon tank:D

If you're going to get guppies, I would suggest all male or all female for a 10, unless you have another tank or someone who will take the babies...Cherry barbs are pretty colorful fish and don't really school. If you get a few of them, they'll kind of hang out together, but also don't have a problem with being on their own.

Generally tetras of NEARLY any sort ar pretty non aggressive. Barbs and "Sharks" tend to be fairly aggressive to other fish regardless. But as a rule of thumb, never ever have fish so small that they can fit into another fishes mouth, they WILL disapear! livebeares(guppies, platys, etc. they can tell you at the store) are pretty calm, but they will breed if there is a male and female so watch out for babies, they're a tasty snack for other aquarium mates.

Neons are touchy fish though so if you plan on keeping them expect afew deaths. I'm down to one =( out of six. Three died within a week, one jumped to death and one... Well I haven't found that one yet it died this week... but the tanks getting the tear apart next water change. I only have one left and he seems misserable. I'm not sure if I'll get him some tank mates or not. The Neons did very well with White Cloud Minows and they looked good together as well. I have one Neon two White CLouds and a Male Betta. I have a 29 gallon so I can have alot more fish once fully cycled then you can with a 10 gallon. Check out the white clouds they're pretty hardy fish and definately not ugly. They're also alot more active in veiw. And if you want color Betta's seem to do well with them. You have to be carefull with Betta's but they are alot of fun to watch and interact with. Yes you can interact with Bettas lol (didn't believe the people that said that months back) I hand feed mine and actually can pet him and such after alittle training.

NO DOUBT, I would like to get A Betta. By The way, Are cardinal tetras Less Touchy? Thats What I Meant By Neons:D.

Here's My Idea For My New Community:
For the cycle: 3 Zebra Danios, 1 Betta.
After: 6 Cardinal Tetras.

Is That Good?

Also: Can Someone Give Me A Pic Of A White Cloud So I Can See What They Look Like?
