Hi
I am new to this hobby. After 4 weeks of struggle I am unable to drop down the PH and KH to optimam level.
Anyone can tell which fish can live well with PH 8.0 and KH between 6.0 - 8.0 ??

What size tank? Maliwi cichlids would thrive in those conditions and they're greatfish Hardy, colorfull, perfect begginers fish. But the will require at least a 55g tank. There's also several livebearers that arn't too finicky about their water. Also I wouldn't reccomend playing with your water's chemistry just yet, best to get some experience under your belt.

My tank is 26g and full of plants and are growing well. 4 weeks gone I did a lot of testing to reduce both ph and kh but it comes back to ph=8 and kh=6-8. Thats why decided to stop doing this testing and search for the appropiate fish to put in. See picture its a little bit old bec. I have addedd 4,5 more plants in it and CO2 system too.

Well I've never had ph 8 but it was at 7.8 at one time and I have dwarf gouramies, cories ( gravel cleaners), white clouds, and otos (algea cleaners). I don't think ph is as big a deal as other water paramiters, most fish will adapt to ph levels, although there are some exceptions with delicate fish. I would worry more about what fish couldn't adapt to high ph. Some of those would include tetras, blue/gold rams. HOpefully some one else can expand that list, but from what I've found most fish will adapt, just acclimate them for a long time before you put them in. Oh, amano shrimp will take care of algea and ghost shrimp will clean gravel if you want something a little different, but I'm not sure how sensitive they are.

My tap water has a ridicoulous amount of carbonates and bicarbonates in it. But hardly anything else. PH is 8.5.

I keep rift lake cichlids, plecos, bettas, and corys with no problems at all. I wouldn't hesitate to use any type of fish in my tap water.

Get a Bristlenose Pleco. They only get around 4" long I believe.

But yeah, all three of those would go together fine.
