which protein skimmer to get?

i am so confused with all the protein skimmers out there. i don't know which one to get. there are a couple of protein skimmers that i have my eye on that i am thinking of buying for my 55 gallon reef tank. i would love to know which protein skimmer do you recommend me buying? it doesn't have to be one of the protein skimmers i named. and what protein skimmer are you using in your tank?

1. coralife super skimmer
2. eshopps hang on protein skimmer
3. aquac remora protein skimmer
 
If buying new, I'd pass on a Coralife Super Skimmer and an AquaC Remora. They can be ok, but for the price of them new, others have reported that there's better options out there.

Does it need to be a hang on skimmer?
What price range are you trying to stay within?
 
i was thinkin of getting the Reef Octopus NWB 150. all me fellow reefers are telling me to go with a octupus. i am going to build a 20 gallon sump so it doesn't have to be a hang ont eh back skimmer. i would like one under $200

REEF OCTOPUS ROCKS! .... I changed out from that POS coral life.....Soon as I putt my Octo in the sump...I saw a dramatic difference in skimming ....

really well made skimmer for the price
 
Reef Octopus are great, I have a hang-on model on my 55g and it does a good job. So easy to clean, tune, fairly cheap and strong construction.
