Whiptail Catfish

You talking about one that looks like this?

Whiptail catfish

or this?

Farlowella catfish

The Rineloricaria c.f. parva is "supposed" to be a good algae eater but then other sites say they aren't. So I guess you have a 50/50 shot.

IceH20- your first link didnt work for me. But anyway, this is a pic of a whiptail that looks like the one in my tank although the coloring on mine is a little grayer I think.

the stuff I've read is they liek a variety of foods, including veggies and bloodworms.... they also get to be 7" long, so just be sure you have the room before you go get one ;) (sorry... habit)

I have one, and he is always minding his own bussiness. He sucks on plants with no damage, and also the glass. He vas even bitten by another tankmate and lost his tail fin. He had a little fungus in the tip, but recovered on his own and his tail grew back. :)

This comment was also on farlowella catfish.
