The Rineloricaria c.f. parva is "supposed" to be a good algae eater but then other sites say they aren't. So I guess you have a 50/50 shot.

IceH20- your first link didnt work for me. But anyway, this is a pic of a whiptail that looks like the one in my tank although the coloring on mine is a little grayer I think.
the stuff I've read is they liek a variety of foods, including veggies and bloodworms.... they also get to be 7" long, so just be sure you have the room before you go get one
