whisper air pumps

I use one on my 20 gallon tank. It is silent and it works for deep water, too. I use it to power my UGF, and it makes my UGF pump 100 gph. I have never had to do any maintenance on it, but I know that you have to replace the filters in it like once a year or two, or when they get really dirty. :sim:

I have tried several different air pumps including Rena, Maxima, & Whisper. Whisper is my personal favorite. They have stood the test of time and are very quiet.

I just had the chance to try out the new Whisper pump overnight. The big difference I noticed was how quiet the pump was sitting on wood. Most of my pumps sit on the carpet but one of my stands has a wood bottom. The main source of noise is the airpump vibrating on the stand. The new Whisper was the quietest pump I've ever used.

Also, I noticed the new Whisper had a filter but all my other pumps do not have filters. I have two Whispers that are 5 years old that have their original diaphrams. Zero maint. pumps!

I run a whisper pump at night in my 55g. It sits on wood inside of the stand. It's so quiet, I can barely hear it running. Actually my H.O.B filter makes more noise (can't wait for the cansiter filter to get here!)

Then I'm probably the voice of dissent. I have the 20 gallon model, and it's very loud, much louder than my Rena one.
