I noticed a white bulge on one of my ember tetras this evening. Please help me identify what it is, and possible treatments! I am attaching a picture as best I can, but with the zoom it may be a little blurry.

They are no longer there. Could it hopefully be no concern at all then? I know nothing about fish reproduction, could it possibly have been eggs?

Hard to tell if it was an injury, parasite or bacterial thing. Nothing visible at this point is hopefully a good thing.

Any recent additions to the tank?

It's not eggs. Did it look like a pimple that popped? Is there a reddish hole where the white bulge was? Hard to tell on red fish...look hard!

For now, since we don't know what it might be, I'd go with frequent large water changes. Daily if you can, every other day if that's the best you can do; at least 40-50%. That's always my first line of helping with unknown problems.
