White flake / spot!

There was a scale that was lose on my vensu cichlid the other day and now there is this white spot.

Is this a dead flake, does this mean it is healing?

Will it heal on its own or should i give it some thing,i don't have a hospital tank so i would have to treat the whole tank if needed.

well whenever i go to my lfs there are always some cichlid tankd that are way too over stocked, some of them fight and got scaled torn off and fins nipped, there are little white spots that form on thease soars, i reany dont hink that this is ick but who whows, the only thing i have had to trea is one of mine that bashed into lavarock and tore his head open. I used melafix and he healed up in a week, its a all natural product and wont hurt your other fish or bilogical filter. the only thing is that it might redice the O2 in the water a bit but nothing bad enough to hurt your fish.

Also fish dont mult or shed there scales, you have to adress why the scale fell off in the first place... is it getting beat up on? or is it the decoration, some timed my fish try to squeez through holes nooks and crannies that are too small for them.
