White marks on Black Mollies. Ich?

Do any of you own Black Mollies? My two have white marks on their foreheads. I have seen white spots on them before but it hust disapeared after a short time. Could this be ich or is this just something common to Black Mollies? I would like to know before salting the tank and raising the temp.
 
I would do that anyways. It could just be the coloration of the mollies that you didn't notice before, like Dalmation mollies. Otherwise they could've scraped up against something and ripped some scales off. Or, they are very susesptible to anchor worm, which are white. Check closely and see if the white marks are actually seperate from the fish. Otherwise I'd throw the salt in and raise the temp to 79 or so. Salt never hurt nobody, especially mollies.
 
It's now "lights out" for fishies so I will get back to you tommorow for sure. It is hard to find a moment that these guys stay still enough to observe minute detail. I've got Otto's, Neons, a CAE and the two mollies. Would the salt and/or temp hike be too stressfull for any of them?

Ottos and neons will not thank you for salting the water. I'd think twice about keeping mollies with these fish for this reason.

What is your water like - is it hard, soft, acid, alkaline?
 
That should be OK for mollies.

It doesn't sound like ick to me. Mollies in F/W are a little prone to skin infections.

Do you have any means of posting a piccy?

But I don't have a digi and to shoot, process, scan and post would make the pics non relevant by the time they got back to you. Had a look again tonight and one Molly has no white, while the other has about half the previous nights amount. It is not white spots per se, but more like a mild white rash in a small area. I'm not too concerned so I will just keep observing it for now. Thank you for the responses. I luv ya all! Really, from the bottom of my tank.:D
 
It's not ick then.

There are a host of skin conditions that look like this, and only smears can really tell you the difference.

The one to watch out for is columnaris.
