Hi everyone, first post
:)

I own 1 Betta and 1 Mystery snail in a 21 litre (5.5 gallon) tank. Water parameters: ph 7.5, ammonia 0, nitrite 0, nitrate between 0 and 5.0.
Ivar (the Betta) is acting totally normal, active, eating, interacting - not twitching or darting or rubbing. But I noticed this white patch on his head this morning and I am stumped? There are no other irregularities on his body - no white spots, no fin rot, etc.
Opinions please as to what this might be as I am very worried and am unsure if I should go ahead with a treatment or not.
Edit: it kind of looks like a flat spot of missing scales, could he have gotten stuck in an ornament overnight and rubbed a scale off?

tamara, welcome to AC!

Please start a new thread of your own (blue tab at top right of forum pages). The OP here hasn't been seen in a few years.

Be prepared, we're going to ask many questions...want pics, test results...& then ask more stuff. But we want to help you.

While you're waiting, I'd suggest a large water change, 50%-ish. They can help a LOT! & give you something positive to do until we can offer more help.

Just based on the OP pics his betta might have scraped his head on a rough stone or other decor. Post up pics of your entire tank so we can help.
