So I am new to this forum, not new to aquariums. I just noticed these white spots on one of my angel fish fins. There are 3 angels in the tank but only the one has them. He doesn't seem to be bothered by them, he doesn't scratch or anything like that and he is eating regularly. But it does make me worry because I don't want it to be something that can hurt him or any of the other fish and me not try to fix it immediately. TiA

It's hard to tell from my screen. Looks like a nice healthy angel.

Tell us more about the tank. Size? How often do you do water changes and how much water do you change?

I think yuo mean the dorsal fin i see 3 spots; they look like particles that settle on the fish; definitely not ick if that is your concern.

They are on his tail too, but yes I was worried it could be ick, I have never had fish that got it so I have no idea what it looks like. But it also looks like where the spots were on the bottom, have fallen off

I'm going to say it's tail & anal (bottom fin) looks like it's either ammonia burn or some other fish is nipping it. It could be a start of ich or maybe just healing fins. It's hard to say. The other angel seems to be ok.

What other fish do you have? 30% water changes every 2 weeks is not enough IME. I try for more than that every week. Sometime just clean water can help a lot.

How long has your tank been set up? Have you tested your water parameters? What were they?

I'm pretty sure it is not ick or anything horrible; though if it gets worse then perhaps ping us.

It ended up just going away one day. Not really sure what it wasm thank you everyone for your help.

The only fish are the 3 angels and a pleco. We test the water pretty regularly, it wasn't ammonia or anything, the levels were spot on. It's been set up about 6 months now
