hey everybody,

i have a 10G with a UGF. a few days ago my friend gave me his pengiun 125. i changed the filter , but left the biowheel. ive been noticeing little white things in the water, he says there little bubbles, but in not so sure. eather way, its making my water look not as clear. any ideas what they are, or how i can get rid of them?

Also,i now have the UGF and the P-125, there is a lot of current through out my tank, is this ok for the fish? (so far 2 guppys and a dwarf)

and lastly how often should i change my filter?

Thanks

It could be something that hitch hiked on the filter media. That is why I never used a filter medium from another tank to even for cycling.

Never change the filter medium unless it is on the verge of breaking down or your water start smelling. Simply rinse it in a bucket of water from the tank. Never use tap water since the chlorine in the water can kill the beneficial bacteria.
