I've got a male betta and three otos in a 20g. At some point in the not so distant future I will be moving them to a 29g, so I'm wondering what other fish people are keeping with their betta.

Thanks

i have a betta in every tank that does not have an over hyper fish or with fry

Mine are with balas, guppies, hoplos, plecos, platies, snails, danios (lots of cover to be with these guys of course), rosey reds (i know i shouldnt keep these but when i started i knew nothing, got em, and would feel bad dumping them, had for a year or so now), giant danio, thinking about trying one with tinfoil barbs but not until i get more top cover for that tank and they learn to chill out a little (might mean getting more, oh well).

Btw all of mine do fine...

In my Betta tank I have 2 males, 3 females, neon tetras, cory catfish and a pleco.

They are very much individuals, bettas that is. I have had four and only one was successfully kept with other fish. Mine did better with a school of neons. I have seen bettas attack platies. Depends on the betta. Whatever you do, just keep an eye on the tank. If he's grouchy, be prepared to move him.

I have my male in a 10 gallon with 2 females, Harlequin Rasboras and Cories

I haven't even thought about where I'll get them since I'm not in any real hurry. If I spy some in a local LFS I'll let you know. My mind could change at any time though. Khulis are sounding quite attractive at the moment.

My cories fared well with a betta. Occasionally a cory would sneak up on a sleeping betta and they'd both run away scared. Both of my bettas got nippy with my neons and flagfish though. Mainly around feeding time.... when the bettas wanted no one else to eat but them.

Since your betta is already getting along with other fish, you should be ok with most additions, provided it is not a nippy fish to go after the betta, or a fish the betta might mistake as another male. Corys should be a great addition :D
