Who keeps what with betta

i keep mine w/ neons,GBR, zebra, cories, shrimp, and the rest of the critters in my tank. Although there are a few extra nasty bettas, ive found that if you float them in a breeder for a week or 2 they will get used to seeing other fish and when you let them out they are way less concerned about them. Suppose its got something to do w/ being cooped up in a little cup and solitary then being exposed to a large space and alot more fish than they are used to seeing, they just dont know how to act.

I kept a little mirror handy. When the betta became nippy, he'd become completely distracted for a fair amount of time as soon as he saw himself.

I keep my betta with two fantail guppies (I don't recommend this, but my betta seems particularily sweet so I thought I would try, and he ignores them completely  ) and three khuli loaches in my ten gallon tank. Do you have a red betta? People seem to think those are the most aggressive, and I have a blue one and he's pretty sweet. . .don't recommend mollies either though, mine killed one of those. Basically I would try:

~platies (mine didn't like them but he never tried to hurt them; just flared when they got too close)
~harlequin rasboras (totally peaceful)
~khuli loaches
~corydoras catfish
~guppies (depending on his mood and their finnage)
~neon tetra (I am planning on trying it, can let you know of my progress if you want  shouldn't be a problem)
~hatchet fish (never tried it. . .shouldn't be a prob tho)
~mollies-WITH SOME BETTAS
~cherry barbs (sweet never bothered mine)
~you COULD try gouramis, some people can pull it off with sweet gouramis and sweet bettas, but unless you have a 20 gallon or larger, I wouldn't try it in case one needs to hide

I hope that helps ;)

I have Bettas in with guppies, mollies(did displays and chased, but never hurt lyretails),kuhlis, albino catfish, and otos. Anyone else have experience with them and dwarf gouramis?
