lots of views, no answers to my question. Did I do something? Would you like me not to bother you any more? I have found this Website a great resource and credit it with the fact that I have not lost a single fish in my first 9 months of fish keeping, but if I'm not welcome here for some reason, just let me know and I won't bother you any more.

Did you here something? Nah, it must have been the wind..........

Aren't people's views like answers to your questions? Maybe everyone isn't answering your questions the way you would like them to be answered? Just a thought.

I really doubt people are ignoring you tho.

I checked your prior posting via your profile, and if I had looked at that post (I do not remember), my reasons for not responding would have been:
1) no tank parameter info other than size were given, not other inhabitants or lack thereof, nothing factual on the water.
2) flashing can be from many causes, not just parasites. Water conditons are equally common sources/causes IME. Water conditions are not stated.
3) whether to subject fish to a treatment process without detectable signs of illness or parasite is a purely personal and philosophic question, so the choice is your own. That is a matter of opinion, not of fact, so there is little to contribute that has not been said hundreds of times.

Whether or not posts get responses from me will depend entirely on the information provided in the post. If insufficient info is there, there is no point in my making wild guesses - it would not help you or the fish and could do harm.

Sheesh, don't take it personal...

I'm sorry if you're not getting the help you're looking for. For myself I'm going to plead very limited internet access this past 6 weeks, so I'm not part of some conspiracy to ignore you to death.

Well, thanks for responding.

RTR, I did actually list all the inhabitants in the tank, two loaches, one Puffer. As to treatment as a preventative measure, opinions were looked for. Especially from people like you, who have tons of experience. However, I will wait till I see actual signs of infection.

Sorry for being so touchy. Had a tough week at work...

Thanks everyone!

Okay, so i missed the puffer - shoot me :p

If I had caught that I likely would have responded, since I am a puffer nut.

BUT with three med-sensitive fish, I would not have done any prophylacsis. If they were in new and in QT, I'd push the temp up alone, but they are not. I'd monitor nitrate/KH/pH and do partials to keep those close to aged tap parameters. I'd also watch respiration rates in case of flukes (they are all wild caught fish unless the puffer is a dwarf from Petsmart - which I suppose is at least half likely given the tank size).

Don't you have competition for the snails?

We all have bad times, they pass. Stresses come and go.
No biggie.

Thanks again RTR. I will hold off with treatment for now. The Puffer had been traded in at my LFS, so I don't know his history. He gets along with most fish, just not other puffers. Tried to get him a girlfriend once, had to return her the next day. Wow, can he be fast when he doesn't like someone...

Again, I apologize to everyone for being so touchy.
