Hi. I've been keeping fish for about 4 or 5 months. My water quality is good and all my fish get along well. Yesterday when I came home I noticed one of my 3 plecos was dead. I have no idea what killed him. Any ideas?

Have you tested your water? Can you post the results?

What size is your tank and what do you have in there besides three (common?) plecos?

Welcome to AC! I'm sorry to hear about your pleco. I'm sure the people in the freshwater forums can help you.

I've read that some of the plecos get territorial when there are other plecos around. maybe some sort of fight or something. Not sure.

How big was the tank? Did you put food for the plecos in? Plecos don't live on algae, they just snack on it. Read the sticky on pleco dietary requirements in the bottom feeders section. They might just be hungry.
