Wierd as ****

Ive just had a heart attack. Two days ago a threw in the bin my dead blue legged hermit out of its shell. Full body ect.

Get this. Ive just seen it alive and well in my tank.

hmm.. based on limited invert experience and no SW experience, i'd say you experienced a molt.

cnt be. the crab i threw away had the head eyes legs boddy.

Ithought when they molt it was just an outer layer of legs

When they molt it does look like a complete body. I remember the first time I saw a molt it was hanging from a fan tree I had. Very disturbing!!

Ive spotted molted legs before but never the whole body. As ive said before

yeah it can be.. sometimes if theyre agile enough they can get out and make it look like a whole body.. as yours did.

Ew, so maybe that wasn't a dead crab body I found today. It was lying next to a pile of mush that I thought was disintegrated crab. Hopefully it was just exoskeleton.

I give mine to the kids to take to school :headshake2:
The first time they took them for a show and tell (a talk to the class about our tank ) now they take them to scare their friends:eek3:
Its a good indicator of excellent water conditions with all things being well in the aquarium
