as above any ideas if a long fin bristle nose will eat smaller fish such as cardinal tetras or even shrimps. I seem to have lost 2 of my tetras recently one body found the other still missin in action
Yeah, plecos are not meant to be killers. They are scavengers. They may eat the body of a dead animal, but they would never kill it. The death of your 2 fish could be because of the water parameters. Check your pH, ammonia, and nitrite.
Ok, lets say this pleco munched on the remains - could the pleco consume too much so that it would kill him as well?
Only reason I ask is I had an albino bristlenose die yesterday - and his midsection - especially the underside was a greyish color (different from the res of his body). ANd one of my Spike Tail Paradise fish is missing. I have searched everywhere for it - both in and out of the tank - to no avail. So I can only assume the Spike Tail Paradise bit the big one - and the bristlenose ate too much of his remains.
