I have no room in my tank now for the bunch of baby amazon swords I have. I was thinking about taking them out of the tank and planting them in dirt. Will they grow, or are they strictly aquatic plants?

What I have read about amazons suggests not...
Anubias can actually grow better in an emersed situation, leaves out of the water, but I've always seen swords refered to as "true aquatics" meaning they must be submerged at all times. I do not have actual experience with these things, but that is the general consensus from all the books and webpages I have read on the topic.

?I tried to grow a sword in a pot emersed in a pond. It just died, never put up emersed growth to replace the aquatic growth. Could be my brown thumb however...
I am growing some emersed kleiner bar swords without any problem. The trick is to start out with 100% humidity and GRADUALLY lower it.
Yea OG, you knew exactly what I meant. Oh well, I'll just keep them the way they are untill they get a bit bigger and try to sell them to my LFS.
