Hey guys, I was doing my ritual 50% water change on my bettas tank when he jumped clean out of the temp container that was sitting on the table and straight onto the linoleum floor. I had him back in the container in about 15 seconds from when it happened. But I notice that a fin one side isn't moving....Will he survive or is shock and potential internal injuries goona get him soon? This happened about an hour ago.
Will he live?!

my betta did the same thing,he jumped out of his temporary container while i was cleaning his 5 gal.he fell about 4 feet to hard wood.he was in shock,i had to hold him up with two fingers because he coulnt move,but he got over it in about an hour and was abl to move,by morning it was like nothing happened. 
i really hope your baby makes it,i cried over him,i could almost hear him saying 'help me!'.let me know if he makes it.

He is back in his tank loving the new surrounding thats I just put in...although, he does seem to have what I can only describe as a "black eye" he has formed a dark bubble over the eye which hit the ground perhaps it will go down or perhaps he has lost sight from it...who knows but he certainly seems happy I'm a little relieved as next week I plan to move him into my office at work....Did I mention I'm a car salesman? LOL

LOLI have nearly always kept some form of top on the container because he is known to be a jumper. I don't know why it slipped my mind this time..but it did and now I really regret it. In effect I was the cause of his little accident. I let it happen so I just hope they he will pull through it without too much issue. Should I feed him tonight or is safer not too? I have heard that it isn't good to feed them after a shock.
don't worry about the betta, they can breathe air. the only thing i would worry about is if he hit his head or something. if he seems dazed, just drag him through the water, that will aerate his gills and the extra O2 helps perk them up.
i had a male white cloud minnow that fell while i was transferring him to another tank. he must have hit his head real hard, because he wouldn't recover. he just started floating around and turning upside down, he had no control. i'm guessing he got brain damage. it was sad, he had to be put down
as for the fin, give him a few days. maybe it's just a sprain and he'll heal with time.

Well, Blub Blub is doing fine and is getting ready for a new (albeit slightly smaller 1.5 gallon) tank on my desk at work. He still has that slightly cloudy bubble over his eye but all seems fine.
