i have a 120L tank with 2 tomato clowns, a blue damsel and a yellowtail damsel, as well as a few small hermit crabs.

i started off with one small clown and then bought a slightly bigger one, they fought a little bit but settled down pretty quickly. one of them lives in a corner, the other one claimed a plant but they swim together quite a bit. they are still so small, one just over an inch, the other one just under. i have tried to read a lot about them, i know that one clown will always be bigger and that once they reach maturity the bigger one will become female and the smaller one a male.

what i would like to know is:

1. how big do they have to get before they reach maturity?

2. how do i tell when they are able to start breeding?

3. are they likely to mate together?

4. will the other fish, crabs, etc. eat the eggs/baby fish?

also, if they happen to lay eggs, is it better to take them out and raise them in a separate tank, or should i leave them in the tank and let them be with their parents?

any help would be much appreciated..
