Long story short, python broke had to drain all the tanks the night before moving instead of the morning of. I put my emperor 280 HOB filters on two of the buckets but I'm a bit concerned because the intakes are bent out away from the filter due to the shape of the buckets. Should I be worried about them breaking, its just for the next 7 hours.

If they're running normally and the lip doesn't look unduly stretched from being jammed like that, I think you'll be fine.

Agree, I think. You got it on there and it's a short period of time. Should be okay for 7 hours. I'd risk it as you probably don't have anything else available.

Nope no extra tank, rubbermaid, etc that can accommodate the fish the way the buckets can. Only other available equipment are airstones but I want the filters running to keep the BB alive.

it should be fine, but remember, even though its 7 hours, the filter can mold to that shape:( it happened to mine when i used it on a bucket for 1 day, btu it was a penguin, not an emperor, but they are the same brand, and almost the same, idk

hope it works out

^ This is what I would suggest...when I did this, it surprised me to see the fish picking at the media constantly. It worked out just fine and I was able to start fresh with a clean filter, I took the time to thoroughly disassemble it and use a bottle and toothbrush, etc.

Unplug your filters and disassemble them. Place all the media in a 5 gallon bucket of tank water. You will be fine.
