I've finally stocked my tank and have tired to get compatible fish that hopefully can grow up together and not kill each other. So far I haven't had too many problems besides random fights and the occasional fin nip. The tank is a 75gal (soon to be upgrading to 100 or 120gal) the fish I have are:

3 Green Terrors
1 Firemouth
1 Convict
1 Texas
2 Plecos (1 Sailfin and 1 Common)
2 Algae eaters
4 Clown Loaches

All the fish are pretty small, ranging from 2-4 inches. Is there anything I should take out or add?

Thanks

If it were my tank heres how id set it up with the fish you list:

1 Green Terror, these guys get very large and most are pretty active.

1 Texas, i like them but they get territorial when the are adults, but the Green Terror can handle it , no problem.
-------- these two will take up more than enoughspace in your tank when they are full grown!--------------

4 Clown Loaches great color lots of activity, cichlids dont seem to mind them and they are great cleanm up crew.

1 pleco, pick which ever you like better, one is more then enough to keep it algae free, 2 would make so much waste it would work against you.

id ditch the 2 algae eaters cause eventully the Green Terror will probably suck them right up and swallow them anyway.

as for the 1 Firemouth and the 1 Convict, ive found convicts to be able to handle themselves a little better with larger cichlids. But pick whatever one you like if you want and keep only one of them. I personally wouldnt keep either, Id subsitute them for 3 or 4 Dollars.

so in the long run your 100/110gallon would be like this:

1 Green Terror
1 Texas
4 Clown Loaches
1 Pleco
3-4 Silver dollars

goo dluck in what ever you decide!

I think tanks can be made to accomodate more/less fish depending on the amount of structure - more structure = more terratory = more fish.

It is hard to rate how these fish will end up doing as there is individual traits too. I have a firemouth that is only second in command to jags, GTs, JDs and salviniis all fear it and get out of its way (all same size). However for a generalisation you are right.

very true. i was thinking generalizations of course and thinking long term when the fish are full grown. like when the gt in just over a foot long and the texas is a good 8-9-10inches. both usually get larger and are usually tougher the firemouths generally. and both get way bigger then the convict. when the 100gallon tank is all set up and the fish are grown 100gallons isnt really that large, plus the loaches and pleco. 4 known tough cichlids will get interesting. like i also said thats only what i would do, and not what other would or should do.

Thanks a lot for the suggestions. I'll used most of them if not all. I didn;t know GT got to be over 12 inches. wow. Maybe I should invest in an even larger tank?

Thanks again
