Will this help with ich in your tank? Is it safe for fish and corals? I found this one on Drfostersmith.com.

Turbo-Twist UV Sterilizers
* Compact ultraviolet sterilizer with revolutionary "Turbo-Twist" design
* Easy-to-install UV sterilizers help keep aquarium water crystal clear
* Versatile UV sterilizer can be installed in-line or hang-on-tank

in my opion the best way to get rid of ick is to put the fish into a hosptal tank and put them through a 6 week hypo to break the lifecycle. make sure you drop the salinity to 1.009 over the course of a 24 hour period.

UV sterilizers are good for zapping tiny living critters that are suspended in the water column (bacteria, parasites, algae, copepods, etc.). Yes, it will help eliminate ich when it's in the part of its life cycle that places it in the water column. However, it will do nothing to the ich that's in the stages of its life cycle when it's on your fish or on/in the LR / sand.

While UV sterilizers are safe for fish and corals, they do kill microorganisms that certain fish and most corals naturally feed upon.

That is a very good UV steralizer. I swear by the things. Since using one, I have not had an outbreak of ich.

I am also very proactive with my tank and do weekly water changes.

I run a UV sterilizer all the time but I'm not running a reef tank, you will get different opinions no matter who you talk to. Some will say you don't need it others say that you do I feel it will help in the long run. But if you have ich and don't want to quartering the fish their is a product that I used with great results, it is (Ich-Attack) will not kill inverts or corals.
