This week i will be setting up my new 30 gallon tank and was wondering if the stocking i have got planned will work well or not. I was planning (due to some advice from someone on here) to put in 2 male and 6 female Pseudotropheus Saulosi. Would it be possible to add a Bristlenose Plec at some stage also?

I agree with ChrisK, but i would add them when you add your fish so that all have an equal start, i keep and actually breed albino bristelnose plecos with my shellies and your saulosi only get an inch bigger than most shellies do..

Bristelnose pleco's get to be 4 to 5 inches and would be bigger than the saulosi's total 3 inches..

Have fun and enjoy..

Or you can add the BN pleco a few days before adding the mbunas (as I did). This way you give the BN a chance to establish himself in the tank before the more boisterous mbunas.

Agreed as well with efors just as long as you don't add the BN way after the saulosi have established themselves in this setup they may terrorize it a bit..
