I have a Windelov for a few weeks now. It's tied to a lava rock above the substrate. There are some black spots on the leaves and on the tips of the leaves. Are these spots/markings normal for this plant or indicative of some problems? The plant, otherwise, has been growing and looks quite healthy (~4 inches tall and bushy).

My set up is 12g, ~2 wpg, flourite substrate, +1 ml Flourish Excel every other day. All other plants in the tank seem to be doing well with no sign of trouble (Anubias nana, C. Wendtii, H. Polysperma, V. Americana, and some java moss).

in my research java fern can look rather rough looking and still be perfectly healthy as long as its not melting or wilting or some other obvious sign of ill health. Mine have some spots and other marks and are doing real well.
