I'm going for it, next sunday afternoon at 3 pm I am starting an aquarium club here in my town.

There are a decent number of aquarists here in town, and the nearest clubs are in Portland OR or Seattle WA. Those are fine and dandy, but I'm not able to go and join those.

I can't say I totally know what I'm doing with this but if I let that stop me there won't be a club here.


Ok, now I just have to go clean the house abit ;)

Say you are not inviting strangers over to your house... Say you are meeting at a public place...

I am haveing it at my house, but the people invited are those that I know already and have seen thier tanks, talked with them individually and otherwise am ok with inviteing them over. When we get together I'll ask if they have any friends or people they know with tanks to invite for next months meeting. I'll give contact information to the local chamber of commerce about the time of the second months meeting.

I've worked on getting to know people I find with tanks so I am now in the position to start this.

by the time I look to invite strangers into the club we should have another location anyway. There are decent civic meeting places that we could obtain but with just a few friends as it is right now probably wouldn't be worth the cost. I'll be quite alright. ;)

So you don't think I should go to the aquarium plant club meeting the 2 young guys I met at a fish club auction invited me to?? :D It was at one of their houses.
 
Just curious, what exactly do you do at these meetings?? At least you know the people coming over. If I told my husband I was going to start a fish club and invite over some strangers (don't worry hon, just some folks from AC) I think he would have a fit :rant: !!! He already asks if I plan on running off with any weird fish people...I'm not sure he is as fond of my new obsession as I am :D
