So my rope fish has been having some problems lately, he was sorta sick and got better. He has been in my 10g and just roaming around periodically for two days now. I think it is my fault. I left my heater at an angle with the cord sticking out of the hole in my hood for the filter until I could think of where to put it. This morning I got up nd he was beside my CD rack and he looked like a petrified S...

I didn't believe the guy after 3 weeks of him not even attempting such a thing ... I probably won't get another one,

Wow, he mustve have some cool teleportation powers like in the movie Jumper

Lol I'm messing with you. Sorry that had to happen to your fish

Sorry this happened to you. They do like to go carpet surfing though. It is a shame though. A lot of the time fish jump for a reason such as something not so friendly in the water. What other fish were in the tank with him? Did you test the water? If there is ammonia or nitrite in the water, even just a little bit, they will jump. Other times they are just curious and think there is something better on the other side of the tank.

Again sorry it happened.

if you only have one 10g and you had all those fish in it its clearly overstocked.

plus, a ropefish is way to long for a 10g

Sorry for your loss! He probably jumped because the tank's to small for him!
