My brother in-laws relationship is on the skids as well as his job because he can't stop playing. I wonder what withdrawal will be like.

Its complete h#**, for weeks your wondering whats going on in your favorite guild, whats on sale at the Auction House (and whats all that silk, sitting in your bank, worth now (maybe I should log on now just to check)) , you imagine how much rest points you have, and thinking about that priest that you never leveled out of the 30's because you were sick of trying find decent groups to do runs with....

I am a WoW addict. I play with my husband and my son and sometimes one of my brothers, plus a few friends. I have Alliance characters on Garona and Horde characters on Malfurion, both are US Servers. I had taken about a year off from the game to try out some other games, but came back to WoW and regret ever having left. It's such a fun game. I can accomplish stuff in 10 minutes or in 10 hours depending on my mood and free time.

Lol MG... :) I bet you are like what the heck..

I never bothered to play WoW since it costs $15 a MONTH! Thats a lot of money!

Played Maplestory thought and Counterstrike now :)

I gave up on Maple when I realised that everybody hacked

I hope you don't get too drawn in.

Too late Que. I have become fully consumed.

I can relate. Here is an example of a typical conversation in my house now:

Wife- "Honey, can you help me with the housework???"
Me- "Can't, I have to level up"
Wife- "I want a divorce"
Me- "Divorce??? Can we talk about this later??? I'm trying to find 8 Gnoll Paws.

Son- "Daddy, look at the "A" i got in school"
Me- "Go away son Daddy's busy"
(note: this scenario was only created to make you gasp and/or laugh. I don't have a wife or son.)

Wow Sway, yer lucky. My GF won't try any video games except guitar hero.
I just started playing, I have a Mage and a Warrior, both in Elwynn Forest. Look me up sometime if you're ever in Goldshire, or mail me some gold if you have any to spare, as I'm a little tight. My characters name is Vickarious. I'll pay you back when i get on my feet.
:grinyes:

I've never played and from what I hear its probably a good thing...I have an "addictive personality". I really like playing RPGs on the pc, but usually when I start I play every freakin free second I have and end up getting no sleep and making my wife angry lol. But now with a kid and a full time job, there aren't enough hours in the day as is.

HOWEVER....Bethsoft is finally releasing Fallout 3 in September 08. Fallout is the game that got me hooked on RPGs in the first place, and the whole game is just amazing IMO...I may have to take a few vacation days when that comes out. I told my wife that and got the strangest look...

Careful with WoW.

seriously.

my ex GF (who was not working at the time) went from playing for 1 hour a day to 60+ hours per week.

not sure how the math works, but between Sept. and Dec., she logged in 37 days worth of gaming time..in 3 months.. :(

no joke.

what pisses me off about that game is that the game encourages people to play at times when the rest of the world is socializing with real people in person- eg. dungeon raids planned for fri/sat nights with double exp. points etc. etc.

from what I understand, when you first start off the game, you can do something meaningful with your characters in an hour or so..later on, to do the same thing, takes 6 or 8 hours..hence, the addictive nature..

for anyone that doesn't believe how addicting games like this (there are others) can become, go to

www.gamerwidow.com

and browse around the forums - marriges ended, children neglected. School grades going down the tubes.

its serious stuff even though it is new.

(in the case of my ex, her pets became neglected..)

its not a joke folks.

please be careful.

and thats my rant (ps my current GF is not a gamer:headbang2:)

:>)

No RPG for me...NONE, no, no, no!

I am starting to get sucked into halo...I must get out!!!!!!!!!!!!

Get out now! I warned my wife about letting the teen play on-line games. Now when I come home every day I hear hails of gunfire and explosions as soon as I open the door. He's an addict.

Luckily for me, i really suck at FPS games. My friends invite me over to play because its fun to sneak up behind me for an easy head shot since I never know whats going on.
