Worst information given

Most of the time they'll sell you any fish for any tank. This way they get to sell you a plethora of "treatments" to try and keep your tank running for as long as you can. It seems that the real profit comes in the sale of dry goods for most LFS, so they tend to push chelators, ammo-lock, carbon...and if your tank is a train-wreck waiting to happen, they can sell you even more crap to try and postpone the inevitable.

Where do you think they come from in the wild??

I simply meant that I can not imagine them "flopping" from one to another..perhaps I am wrong. I have to say...ya'll can be the most intolerable group I have ever seen.....perhaps a bit of patience with those of us who do not know everything would be in order.....my deepest apologies for offending anyone by making an inaccurate assumption.....

I agree that *some* of the members here are intolerable due to their rude or sarcastic remarks to newbies (and even to some experienced fish keepers). However, my opinion about this is that people who reply rudely do not care about furthering the education of inexperienced fish owners, thus don't really care about the animals.

I am not talking specifically about this thread, but I have seen alot of flaming in response to simple questions about everything aquatic.

Ridiculous. Frustrating.

Still not as bad as going to the lfs, though.

Keep in mind, I'm not trying to offend anyone.

I agree...it's rather disheartening to see it...makes me feel bad for the ones it's directed towards. I can only assume we're here to learn ( except for those that know so much more than others) ..and it makes me afraid to even ask questions sometimes. I am no "newbie"...but I am far from knowing everything...there are many "holes" in my knowledge, I'd like to think people would welcome helping to teach others...... :(

Hey REDZPONY...

I agree. However, you have to understand that seeing the same topic 3 times in a day can be somewhat frustrating and it seems quite a bit of newer members are not reading any of the sticky's or searching the forums.

I think that anyone, regardless of their current state of being, could always lighten up a bit.

Offense must be taken, so if one never takes offense, they can never be offended.

Let's move on, shall we?

Hate to say this but I do not think a single betta found at he LFS has any idea what it is like to live in the wild. I would guess that they are many generations from having ever lived in a rice paddie.

People use to live off the land, but in my generation if the land does not include a walmart and a grocery store I'm SOL.

The ones that do live in the wild will dry up and die when the water dries up unless they are close enough to another body of water they are lucky enough to flop over to.

I come to this forum when I need a break from the hard reality of other forums. Seriously, people treat newbies with kid gloves here in comparison to other forums.

Everyone needs to lighten up.

Just like to point out that there is a FREAKIN TON of info on this site and sometimes folks look and perform a search and for whatever reason don't necessarily see that their question has already been answered....that's why they're asking it. :)
