I had to remove one of my pea puffers from it's tank. He/she was getting picked on. 2 questions, 1. he's not very agressive , so I was wondering if I can put him/her in my Cory/harleyquinn tank LOTS of plants . 2. how long can I keep him/her in my 1.7 gallon?

You can try, just monitor. Pea puffers range wildly. Some will leave tank mates alone, others will nip fins. I'd worry more about the cories, tetras are fast enough to avoid a puffer.

And...watch the remaining pair. IME, they will now turn on each other.

I have been, the other 2 just chase each other. They're not actually biting and holding on like they did to the one I took out. He/she was actually puffed up! cool to see, not fun to watch lol

My dp would go after the long fins on the gourami. Can try it, but keep in mind that it might be tough to remove the puffer if it isn't working out.
