Hi there...I have a 10 gallon tank which currently is the home of 6 red eye tetras and 2 panda corys. We would like to add 2 red wag platy's and 2 more panda's.Would this be overstocking? My concern right now is that I do not have enough cory's for them to be happy....I read somewhere that there should be 4 or more together, but in the future we would like to get the platy's to add some color in the tank. I know the 1 inch per gallon rule is not concrete, that it depends on the fish, but I am too new at this to figure out if this proposal would work - thanks for any help!

Not only is the one inch per gallon rule not concrete, it's just not a good rule of thumb at all and almost always leads to overstocking. That means it is very much on the high end of things, all things considered.

I think you could add another panda cory if for nothing more than company. 3 or more is so-so, 6 or more really makes a decent school. Obviously, with more room you could pull something like that off. Have you considered a 20 gallon long?
