Wow! Excel really does kill bba!!

This was my second attempt at getting rid of my BBA. I was hard to watch as I hacked alot of leaves tryin to rid myself of this pest. I kept up with my diy co2 bottles and water changes. I think my first try didnt work because I use a uv sterilizer. I kept it off this time and overdosed. It turned red the next day then grey then died off. Im glad it worked .

yes it does. It will only be a temporary fix though unless you get your co2 levels to even out.

Excel to kill bba works best when you turn off all flow in the tank for about 30 minutes.

h2o2 works as well. good point coach about cutting the flow. it doesnt mix in the water as well. i still would suggest a dip if you can since excel can effect some plants baddly and too much and harm inverts/fish. just have to be careful when you are doing it.

I did notice that it bothered my MTSs...But i dont care..Loss my vals but I didnt have many and they never really took off anyways.

i used a turkey blaster on my bbb effected spots and it worked great

If you used good CO2 system, then it's much easier to control and manage all algae, not just BBA, DIY can be done..but many fail to do so.
GAS tanks can help a great deal, but poor management of CO2 causes the most algae and fish deaths of any one thing in this hobby.

Excel can kill fish as well and fry plants if you over dose, but it tends to be easier to dose than gases.
