wow! is everyones cichlids breeding!?!??!!!

I turn on the lights and find that a 2.5" female and a 4" male con both pink were breeding in the middle of the egglaying (wich has been a half an hour so far and she still looks plump) I shined a light in. most of the eggs were being layed at the top wich I could not see but from what I could see there were at leat 150 eggs on the sides not including ones ontop. My question is: how many eggs can a well conditioned pair at that size pump out at max???!!? :idea2:

They're convicts, all they do is eat, fight and breed....and breed somemore.

I know. but the question still remains: About how many eggs can a 2.5" female pink con and a 4" pink male that have been well conditioned lay?

as ive said in my previos post its my con first lay and ive couted about thirty eggs mybe a more exsperionced pair would lay more just guseing if thats any help

30-300 varies with every spawn, no matter the condition of the female.

i got home 1 day and my 2 inch african cichlid was carrying eggs around in her mouth! after a few days i bought minnows.....spat em out. my shark took care of them though
