Wow, my tank is leaking.

And I agree with the above poster, it looks like that dresser is sagging. It looks like you really pulled out all the stops in equipment here, I wouldn't risk it all with an improper stand.

Thank you! This is a very important issue that should be addressed.

I can't really tell if the dresser is sagging or not, but I do agree that it's not a proper stand. Not to be super technical, but you have a lot of weight there. Since it's all centrally located on the dresser, all of the force is pushing straight down. This in turn will stress the furniture and the tank. If you look at most aquarium stands, the have a board, feet or a flat surface that travels around the entire length of the bottom of the stand. This give more surface area to spread out the weight of the tank and better offer better support. If you look at your dresser, you have 1 leg on each corner and maybe 2 legs in the center. That's 6 individual points of contact and maybe 3 inches each. It's a good possibility that you have all of your service materials and stuff in this dresser as well.

Just my opinion, but I know I wouldn't want 70+ gallons of water in my room or over my clothes one day.

Looks like a 72 to me. I have an 80 bowfront and it's taller. The next size up for bowfronts is 155 but that's a 6 foot tank.

How tall is it. Because when I bought it, the woman said that she got it labeled 85 gallon bow front from ALL GLASS.

Thanks for Noticing, I do see it now, It is sagging way more in the pics than it does in real life. My dad told me that this stand could hold up to 1400 lbs because before we moved it to use as a fish tank stand, it had about 800lbs of stuff in it. I do see it sagging a tiny bit, and will just get a custom stand made for it since we are remodeling our house soon.
THANKS FOR SEEING THAT YOU GUYS!!! SAVED MY TANK!!!
I will talk to my dad about it once he gets home from work.

This means I have to empty the tank, empty at least 90% of the substrate, and then move the whole thing. Well, that is okay since then I won't have any more problems after that.

This is exactly what I told my dad, but he was sure that it could hold the weight, and now I have to wait until he gets home so that I can empty it. I measured the distance from the stand to the floor and found that on the edges, the distance was 4.25 inches, and in the middle it was 3.5 inches. If the tank breaks, and floods the room before my dad comes home, then I won't get in trouble, but I will be kind of angry. I won't get in trouble because my dad said to use this, and he was positive. Then he will have to buy the new tank, gravel, rocks, stand, everything that broke. I hope that we can just build a new stand and then somehow transfer it.:(

I will build it this weekend and empty out the tank, and then I will finish up the stand the next next weekend, and then start up the tank again. Probably have it restarted by the end of April.

I am so mad right now.

PLEASE ANSWER!!!
I CALLED MY DAD, AND SENT HIM PICS, AND HE...
THINKS THAT THE PROBLEM WILL BE SOLVED BY CUTTING OFF THE LEGS???

WILL THIS WORK???

DETAILS: Then the stand will have a flat base, and might not be level since we cannot cut super professionally.

WHAT DO U GUYS THINK I SHOULD DO?

OPTION 1
BUILD A NEW TANK STAND FROM SCRATCH(THIS IS WHAT I WANT TO DO) :)

OPTION 2
CUT OFF LEGS AND RISK IT:(

Build a stand...that dresser doesn't have the vertical support needed, especially in front at the center...and most likely, completely horizontally.

I agree with Rbishop. Don't use the dresser for a tank that size. A 20G is the most I'd put on it. Build a 2X4 stand for the time being.

FB - Whenever you get this stand fiasco sraightened out, :nilly: make sure you put some drip loops in those electrical cords. Let them drop behind the stand/dresser so there is a low/drip point prior to the power strip. Good Luck!
