Wow, my tank is leaking.

Also, the website says that the stand is not made of wood!!!
It is made of dense fiberboard construction?
Has anybody used this type of stand before?
Sounds like it will collapse easily if not made entirely of wood.:(
Yes, it would work. MDF board is VERY strong...do not think that it's the same thing as ordinary particle board. Big difference. However, you could build a 2X4 stand for much cheaper but if you're set on having a decorative cabinet, then that stand will be fine. It is made for a 72g tank and will be able to support it easily.

I have a stand for my 75 gal tank made from that type of wood. Got it from petsmart 2 yrs ago. I haven't had any issues yet.

How much weight about do you have on it???

Go look at stand plans and make your own out of real wood. It'll make you feel a lot better about the work put in, and you can secure it and make sure its very strong. Thats expensive for something made out of fake wood.
+1 on expensive for fake wood
Also, there is no complete back, there is a huge cutout in the back which doesn't matter for me cuz the tank is against the wall. I have finally convinced my dad that the dresser/stand is not safe/good for the tank we have. :D
Finally, he believes me.:)
But he is interested in ADA stands.(amazing) He wants to do a ADA stand build with the instructions(crazy)(super expensive)
I think he wants to get a really nice stand with carving that looks like a piece of decor because now he believes me about having the stand making a pretty big difference. Because the tank itself looks different in these situations
1) an amazing freshwater heavily planted high tech 100 gallon tank ON A PLAIN 2x4 STAND

2) the same tank ON A CARVED ORNATE STAND THAT LOOKS LIKE DECOR

there is a HUGE difference

he sent me these links(i think my dad is getting fish "fever" and going crazy) (he wants my tank to look like these links)

MY DAD IS CALLING TO ORDER THE LIGHTING 2MORROW

that's a nice fixture. If you aren't planning pressurized co2 I think you are going to end up with an algae farm or cutting back to two lights, though.

Yeah, that is why I got an extra switch, because I am planning to run....
2 bulbs 9 hours a day.
1 bulb 3 hours a day for a boost.

I will be getting a Co2 System sometime between June & October. I might use my graduation present money to buy it.:)

SADLY, SINCE CATALINA AQUARIUMS IS LOCATED IN SACRAMENTO, CA, AND I LIVE IN SAN JOSE, CA, I WILL HAVE TO PAY TAX:(

JEsussssssss. You must be spoiled! Your dad is just buying you all that expensive stuff??? I had to get a job to support my hobby! I work hard for my stuff!!
