I just used the method of trimming your puffers teeth through clove oil and it was incredibly easy!!! I was super nervous at first, having never trimmed a puffer beak before but this was as easy as it gets!
The clipping job isn't perfect but it's about 99 percent perfect, I'm sure with time I'll get better at it. I recommend this treatment to anyone who needs to trim a puffers beak.
 
When my target fish was in my larger tank I had to clip its gill spikes, so it would stop spurring my other fish.
That was easy also, the target fish is in a tank with three silver shark cats and the spurs have grown back. The target fish schools with the cats.
