The Petsmart near my house sells these.... They look nice and seem like they'd be easier to care for, but I can't seem to find any information regarding them. Maybe they're just baby clawed frogs?

Has any one here had any experience with these frogs?

i've never heard of XL ADFs...do the frogs have claws on their front feet?
if they do they are true ADFs..if not then they are african clawed frogs.
i wonder if XL means they're on steriods or something....

The clawed frogs have NO webbing on thier front feet...the ADFs do. The clawed frogs are fat and ugly....the ADFs are more streamlined and much cuter than those nasty clawed frogs........but.......I don't have a bias....nope, not me :D

Are they the really large frogs that aren't even real adfs but are actually african clawed frogs?

Those grow up to five inches and may be illegal to have in some states I think.

The "XL african dwarf frogs" are most likely African clawed frogs. They are easily mistaken for the dwarf frogs when young, but can grow up to six inches and they are very aggressive and will eat anything that will fit in their mouths. They are also illegal to keep in some states as people will release them into the local waterways and will disrupt the ecosystem.

Here's some pictures of an African clawed frog:

I believe Petsmart sells livestock by size gradation - "Extra-Large African dwarf frogs" may well be Hymenochirus boettgeri.
