Hello All,

Recently introduced two true perc clowns (1") into my newly cycled (took 2 1/2 months i was going crazy :mad2 ) Tank 20g. they are doing great and seem really happy dispite the little fights they have to establish dominance.

however my little sister (10) came to visit yesterday and decided that all she wants for christmas is a fish of her own to put in my tank! great! just when i thought i had it all sorted and a nice home for my clowns, it appears i will have to give in to pressure and get another fish. Can anyone reconmend a tank mate for my little clowns, ideally one that will not

Eat them
Annoy them
Upset them
Infect them

And is small enough for my 20G tank

Your help in this matter will enable a little girl to have her christmas wish :)

Thanks Guys

Dan

With A 20g Adding Another Fish Will Nearly Make It Optimum Fish Capacity The Other Thing To Do Would Be To Get Her A Little Crab Or Something

A cleaner shrimp or two would be a good addition. They are cute and don't add a lot of bioload.

One or two small gobies, like neons, greenbanded or redhead would work as well.

Adding Crustaceans Dont Really Afffect The Bioload Atall They Eat All The Leftovers They Will Only Help Your Tank Same With Crabs And Other Crustaceans

There Are Some Lovely Ones Out There A Nice Easy To Keep One Is The Candy Shrimp Or Also Known As The Dancing Shrimp Good Colour On Him And Markings I Had One Until My Solandri Puffer Ate Him Last Night I Was Not Happy

Thanks Guys. I will now puersuede her that she WANTS a shrimp or two. Maybe i could use the tactic of "looks hes just like the french shrimp on finding nemo"

It worked when i told the other half that i wanted to dust off the fishtank "look just like nemo".

I will find it a little harder to puersade her that we need a 300 gallon tank and a scary lionfish though. In my dreams only i think

I find that most kids that see my aquarium are quite impressed with my starfish. I can drop pellet food near where he's hiding and within about 30 seconds he comes out to pick it up. I'm not sure of the bio load but he's small and doesn't eat all that much.

the plot thickens she actually wants a "nemo" i dont really want to add another clown so i have decided to give up "Hector" to be now be called "Nemo" :mad2 (such a cliche) thanks for all your advice though I now intend to get a pair of shrimp (after Chistmas) one of which i will now call "Hector" to soften the blow.

If anyone is interested I purchased my two percs (Hector, and Coco) from my LFS which are supplied by TMC http://www.tmc-ltd.co.uk they have a link on thier site to find dealers

they cost £11.50 each which i think equates to 20 million US Dollars lol  . I hope to upload pics later today

Thanks Again

Dan
