Yellow Discus- Special Foods?

Hey guys!
So, originally when planning my discus diet, I bought FBS, FBW, FBH, and Tetra ColorBits. I then read that the ColorBits will turn my yellow discus orange because they promote red/orange colors. So I have been advised NOT to feed the colorbits in my tank as to keep the yellows... well.... yellow!

So now I'm looking for a new dry food. My question is, do these foods conflict with the yellow coloration, and will they work for all blues/yellows/reds/oranges in my tank?

This is what I have been suggested (not for yellows specifically, but as a good discus food):

(Angels Plus Brand)
Garlic Flake
Vitamin Flake
De-worming Flake
Fry Starter 1.5mm pellet

Also,
Ocean Nutrition Prime Reef Flakes


Do you guys see any conflict with those? I don't know how to tell if they will turn my yellow discus orange.. maybe some discus experts here would be willing to help me out and let me know which foods will work for ALL colors of discus in my tank. Hopefully, some of the ones above will work because I've heard that discus love them.

Bree I have always fed the NLS discus pellet (no color enhancer) and they love Ocean Nutrition's Brine Shrimp Flakes. I have orange discus, blue discus, and ...... although I cannot remember the specific name......a pair of very light creamy or pearl slight yellow colored albinos. And daily FBW is my staple food. All the colors are bright and clean. My blues are dark and my creamy yello albinos stay that way. I just never cared for colorbits from days before I started with discus. But lots of people use them.

I ordered the listed foods because I got confirmation over at SimplyDiscus that they shouldn't affect the yellows. I've seen some of your discus, really beautiful!

Just a thought... If you had just one tip for a new discus owner, what would it be? (Other than a ton of WCs and feedings! haha)

One tip......hmmmm........be sure to take some time to sit down, watch them and enjoy them in between water changes! They are a unique fish, very personable, will beg at the glass for food from you and act like puppies! I would sit every night and have a cup of tea while watching them while they were growing up....very entertaining!!!

While that's advice and not really a tip....I think the most important tip I can give you is do not add new fish to the discus tank without proper QT.....never, ever! It is a frustrating, headbanging, long drawn out process to get discus back to good health after illness and parasites. Just say no....to adding unquarantined fish!:grinyes:

I love spending time just watching them wiggle and squirm at me for more food (constantly! haha). and I love that they eat from my hand!

The QT tip is very true. Not worth sacrificing the lives of some really quality fish just to save some time.. so not worth it in the long run.
