Yellow Tang ? Will Damaged Dorsal Grow Back?

Although YT maybe eating/picking/grazing, I would not leave nori in the tank overnight. I rather rub small piece of non-roasted (roasting breaks down natural and necessary vitamins) Nori from Asian market between two fingers. Little at a time thus YT will eat most before bits of nori fall to bottom. This way you can even hand feed them as I done with most fish I kept.
Believe me , it is not your camera, it is bit thin. I would hand feed Nori three times a day, even more if needed, until fatten up (no visible ribcage).

Cerianthus, thanks for the info. I’m actually heading over to the Asian Market tomorrow and will see if I can find non-roasted. I originally picked up roasted because that is what a local club member suggested I buy. Now I guess I’ll need to learn how to make sushi with all this roasted nori I have.
 
Picked up the ONLY non-roasted algae my Asian Market had today….Seoul Dried Seaweed. They had maybe 15 – 20 other roasted algae products there, but only one non-roasted. Put a ¼ sheet in the tank as soon as I got home and it was gone within 10 minutes.
 
An update on the Mohawk tang…here are the original photo, month and a half later, and about four months later. Growing a little slower than expected, but can’t complain.

But I’m a sucker for damaged fish and just picked up a clown with its dorsal fin chewed up. It was in a 29 gallon tank with a male clown, coral banded shrimp, and two small crabs. I’ve got to believe the male clown was chomping on her fin. I wonder if this is a mating thing? The male is now in the naughty tank while this female is in my DT with a bunch of other fish.
