I have a chance to get a 40 gal breeder and stand, really cheap. I'm somewhat of a noob. Need help picking out a light. Plants will be mostly moderate light, like ludwigia, moneywort, and some micro sword. I found a Coralife CFL 2x96 (seems like too much light), a CFL 1x96(doesn't seem like enough), and some 2x39 t5ho, and 4x39 t5ho fixtures. HELP!!! I'm not sure which to use. I was thinking of DIY CO2 also...

Right now I have a 10g with 2x15 6500k CFL. Everything is great with that tank.

The 2X39 watt t5ho is the way I would go. Youre getting nearly 2 watts per gallon of efficient lighting, good for a low tech setup and enough to work with CO2 as well, provided you are not going with high light plants.

Check out Drs. Foster and Smith or Big Al's for Aqualight T5 normal output.
