(yet another) stocking question

On your 46g tank I would think about having a bristlnose catfish and only about 4 corys. That would work if you have a piece of driftwood at least. Also you would probably want to stick to 8 blackskirts, 8 danios, and say 6 platys.

greedy danios

I was very disappointed in the zebra danios I had, I eventually got rid of them. They were very greedy feeders and bullied the cories out of their food. The 5 young panda cories died. When I resotcked with 4 full grown cories, they took turns harassing the herd of cories, pushing them away from food, and just swimming close "sharklike" to intimidate them. One cory may have died, I can't find tham all. I got rid of the danios. In fact, they were pretty mean to the tiny ember tetras also, maybe that is why so many of them dissappeared, no food.

Thanks for the replies! I will have to look up a bristlnose catfish! Haven't seen that one before.

Interesting info on the danios - they are by themselves, so I haven't had any bullying problems yet. However... the big tank that has the platys and tetras.... the tetras are piggies! One is actually overweight, I think. Larger abdomen, but totally normal behavior/activity level. Swims fine. Voracious eater and he pigs out on everything (flake, spirulina, peas...). They are all on a diet now. :p
