I tried tossing a couple cucumber slices weighted down with plant weights today in my tank so that my giant otos wouldn't starve to death. They've pretty much taken care of the algae in my tank, so I'm starting to worry about them not getting enough to eat. I walk away for about an hour, then come back and see my loaches picking at cucumbers. Wow ... I didn't know they ate veggies.

At least one of the giant otos managed to find a slice and realized what it is. I'm hoping the other two wise up at some point.

Yes they eat cucumber, if that was the question. not quite sure on the reason behind this post, but you can also try, zucchini, honeydew melon, and cantelope.

yo-yos are omnivorous loaches; they will eat anything on the bottom, be it animal or vegtable.
