You Know They Exist...

I wonder and think about all of those possibilities a lot, Emg. The thing that intrigues me most is this: You have people that believe in God and not aliens. You have people that believe in aliens and not God. What if they BOTH exist? Who can say that alien beings are not also creations of a God? It makes me wish I could find out...

You may be right Sky....I did't say it was impossible for life on other planets....but the chances are pretty darn slim when you take into consideration all the things that HAVE to be right in order for that possibility.

No harm in wondering about it though I suppose... ;)

Keep searching Sky ! The truth is out there for those who desire it ! :)

"...such as the distance of earth from the sun......the degree of tilt of the axis...the makeup of the atmosphere...where the earth is placed in the galaxy .."

The distance of the Earth from the sun is not near as narrow as what was first believed. The content of CO2 in the atmosphere greatly expands the distance that a planet can be from a sun to support our type of life. And that's only Earth's type.

A planet with a high CO2 atmosphere can be much farther from a sun than Earth and be much hotter. One with less can be much closer to the sun and colder than Earth.

The degree of tilt only cause seasonal changes. These changes are not needed by life and actually cause more stress and obstacles to life. If our axis was not tilted life would have a much better time of it.

The makeup of the atmosphere has changed dramatically during the existence of life on Earth. There is no scientific reason why life existing on a planet would require the Earth's particular atmosphere content. To think otherwise is to gravely mistake cause and effect.

Where our Solar system is placed in the Galaxy has absolutely no effect on life existing on Earth. Why would anyone come up with a reason that we would have to be on the *** end of a distant spiral part of a galaxy in order for life to exist on a planet?

The people that print that garbage are making up facts to try and support their unsubstantiated ideas with no attempts at simple logical and scientific arguments.

Physics....as to why we need to be on the outer edges of the ring of a spiral galaxie....it has to do with the amount of radiation..the closer to the center of the galaxy...the higher radiation....too far away, and not enough.....as to only spiral galaxies......the "cloud" type galaxies are way too hot...

The tilt of the axis does have effects on weather and such...if the axis wasn't tilted the full rays of the sun will be constantly centered on one spot of the planet
....having great effects on the weather and temperature of that planet...If our planet did not have this tilt.....it would burn up....

As far as atmosphere content........earth has the exact atmospher for the exact distance from the sun.......required to sustain life.......hhmm....chance ? I don't think so...

Physics is a pretty interesting study...and it's scientific too ! you should try it sometime ! ;)

OH...BTW....I love that quote about the food chain on your signature ! LOL.....indeed ! :thm:

Umm, Watcher, there are lots of plants that need that tilt. It's necessary for some plants to get "chilled" before they complete their yearly process and bloom. Just ask anyone who has had to force bulbs in the freezer. And it really affects their circadian rythym too. Plus how would the utilities make any money if they couldn't bleed me dry in the summer since I live in Zone 10 - If there was no axial tilt I'd just move to the perfect latitude and stay there! :joke:

A visit to the equator would show that 'tilt' is not necessary. Not to say that there isn't Christmas on the equator, but that Santa trades in his reindeer for gazelles... :D

LOL ! Hey...did you know that water spins down the drain in the opposite direction south of the equator ?
Guess that means flying saucers spin the opposite direction to control the magnetic field.
