My zebra danio has an extremely large belly, about half the it's total height. I've searched the internet all over but I can't find any pictures of a prego. I can't get a picture because they're so fast. Is it pregnant or is it a tumor or something?

I'll try tomoz.

This is one of my blue zebra girls holding eggs (she gets just a touch wider before she drops):

Does she look like that? There shouldn't be any red streaking, discoloration, or lumpiness, that could indicate disease.

No she dosen't look like that; mainly cause she's a danio  . Thanks for the help though.

I hope so.

Aussie, that is a danio I posted. :) She's the blue long-finned variety. The body is the same as a regular danio.

Here's a google pic I found of the regular colored male and female (on bottom) - that female is carrying eggs as well:

Webcricket that is really strange. When you first posted that picture is was a pic of two cories. I sound crazy but it was. But thanks so much, it looks like she's full of eggs.

Glad to hear she is okay! Let us know if you ever get any fry that hatch and survive!

You know what, I think I uploaded that pic with the same name as an old pic with cories. Your browser was probably storing the old pic. Technology, eh?
