I sued to go the long route and acclimate by floating etc. Now, I set them out of the bag and into the tank they go. I do soak the net in the tank before I net them so it is soft but that is that. I have done that with all the fish I currently have except for my sevrum and I haven't lost any fish.
On the other side of the coin, I didn't loose any fish by the slow float and add water, or the drip method either.
Until we can establish meaningful dialogue with the fish, I doubt if we can truly say what is better for them under what conditions. Even then, the fish will probably have their own individual opinions.
