what are my chances of being succesful?
For a breeding pair of oscars you need at the very least a 75gal but a 90gal would be way better. There is no way to tell the sexes you have to put several together as far as ph nuetral would be good.
is a 90 gallon that much better? arent they only 4 inches higher than a 75?

it is possible to sex oscars but it would require their history if they are over 7"
the females are are deeper bodies and shorter.
males have longer faces and longer bodies
BUT NOT ALL THE TIME but lots of times it is correct thats the difference of my breeding oscars
live sea monkeys are good try to get lots of live foods like yabbies, fish, shrimp, blood worms etc
good luck

ive raised and breed oscars sucessfuly for years, i agree with buy at least 4 raise them up and just hope for a pair, and 90 gal wud be ideal for 2 adults, ph at least 7.0-7.4, no caves just lots of flat rock on the botton, even venting these are difficult until almost adult size,
